Paul A. Ellerbrock, 93, passed away February 15, 2017 at Hospice of Northwest Ohio after a brief illness.  Paul was born on June 28, 1923 to Felix and Ida (Schuler) Ellerbrock in Kalida, Ohio.

Paul was a proud Navy veteran, serving in WWII as an anti-aircraft gunner, protecting merchant marine ships in both South Pacific and Alaskan waters.

Upon discharge Paul enrolled in electronics school in Chicago, IL.  After graduation he came to Toledo where he met and married Martha Jasinkowski.  They were married for over 61 years.

Paul was a successful businessman who, with his partner, started a TV rental service in area hospitals.  He retired at age 53 to pursue his true passion, fishing.  “The worst day fishing is better than the best day working” was his favorite saying.

Paul was a wonderful woodworker, handyman, fixing and repairing many, many items over the years.  He was a great believer in making things with his own hands.

Paul was an active member of the VFW, American Legion and the 40/8.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, dearly loved by his family. Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Martha and his granddaughter Meredith Treby.

He is survived by his loving children; Linda (Bill) Treby, Denise Bamberg, Tim (Stella) Ellerbrock;  Grandchildren, Will Treby, Taylor (Mike) Rankin, Allyson (Frank) Baugh, Christopher Bamberg; Great grandchildren, Garrett Henry, Lyla Rankin.  Paul was a fun-loving, caring soul and he will be missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 3-8 pm, Sunday, February 19, 2017, at the Michael W. Pawlak Funeral Home, 1640 Smith Rd., (at Jackman) Temperance, MI.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday at 10:00 am at Regina Coeli Catholic Church, 530 Regina Parkway, Toledo, OH, where he will lie in state after 9:00 am. Fr. John Miller, officiating.  Interment will follow at Toledo Memorial Park.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of Northwest Ohio.   www.pawlakfuneralhome.com
